Hello, my name is Mike Talleda - I came to this Country in 1962 as a refugee from Cuba along with my father, mother and three brothers and sister... I was nine years old at the time. Within several months after arriving in Miami, we resettled in Southern California, specifically Alhambra, where we lived until 1968 before moving to the Torrance. I attended and graduated from North High in Torrance. I Attended El Camino College. While at El Camino I became interested in Real Estate, took a few classes and upon receiving my Real Estate License in 1976 proceeded into the Real Estate business. I began my Real Estate career in Hawthorne, first as an agent, later become a manager and in 1980 obtained a Brokers licenses and have been an owner operator in the Hawthorne – Lawndale CA. ever since. After the devastating attacks of September 11th on World Trade Center, we formed a group called 9/11HelpAmerica with the specific purpose of assisting the victims of 9/11. That was our first effort October 2001. Shortly thereafter when the Wars began in Afghanistan and later Iraq, all our attention turned to helping the Fallen and Wounded Warriors. In 2004, we officially incorporated, applied for and received our 501(C)(3) status and continued with our programs of helping Surviving Spouses and Wounded. That is where we find ourselves today. The foundation is run by an all volunteer crew, always in need of new friends.
